“Over the course of my career I have had the unique opportunity to work in various leadership positions throughout the Midwest. My time working in education has been extremely rewarding and memorable especially working alongside some of the most selfless people that dedicated themselves to leaving a positive, lasting impact on their communities. Through these experiences I quickly learned that building a community that trusts and cares for each other achieves amazing things together. It is for this reason that I am so excited to step into the role as Director of Family Wellness. I feel my own personal values and exclusive expertise seamlessly merge with the organization’s mission to “inspire healthy lifestyles by connecting people in a fun environment”.

I believe very strongly that making individual connections and caring for others is the first step in forging potential into reality and in turn, enhance individual’s lifestyles. My experiences working as a teacher, coach and administrator have been amazing. It’s not just the activities people love, it’s the connections they make with others through the process of self-development and supporting their team. We all develop purpose through achievement and belonging and I know that the Family Wellness team works hard to provide inclusive opportunities and inviting activities to ensure all individuals can experience fun events that build a strong sense of community and lifelong fitness.

I know that I have big shoes to fill. Former Director, Jenna Johnson, led by example and taught her staff that the most trusted team members not only need to be the hardest workers, but they also need to show that they care about the people around them. She developed trust through hard work, accountability and respect and she showed that she was willing to support people from the ground up. During my short time learning from her I quickly noticed that we both believe in leading on our feet. It’s important to walk around and talk to staff, members, children…everyone. I plan to build lasting relationships and at the same time learn from the devoted staff around me. Family Wellness members embrace hard work, lifelong learning and the staff has helped create a safe, welcoming environment where everyone earns deep respect for each other. That’s noticeable as soon as you walk through the door.

I’ve already had the great opportunity to meet many of our outstanding members and I can’t wait to continue to get to know everyone and develop a fun environment where people can continue to connect and be inspired to live a healthy lifestyle. I know I will be inspired by all the great things that we will accomplish together.

I can’t wait to meet you and welcome everyone to the Family Wellness community!”
