June is Yoga Month and Family Wellness has a week of Yoga just for you!

Outdoor Summer Solstice Yoga

Monday, June 20th from 6:00PM – 7:00PM

We are offering this special Outdoor Summer Solstice Yoga class in celebration of Yoga Month. During the Summer Solstice the sun appears to stand still before it changes direction. We will take time to reflect on ourselves with an outdoor yoga class that uses the sun as inspiration to re-charge, energize, radiate, empower, strengthen and calm ourselves. This is a mixed level yoga class using sun salutations as a guide throughout the practice.

This is offered as part of the regular group fitness schedule.

No registration required!

Yoga On the Vine

Wednesday, June 22nd from 5:30PM – 8:00PM

Family Wellness has teamed up with Bear Creek Winery to craft a relaxing and fun event of Yoga & Wine Tasting! Following a relaxing 55 minute yoga class enjoy a light meal of salads and cheese combined with educational wine tasting and some local artists and makers displaying some of their beautiful work for purchase. Make sure to stick around for the prize drawing at the end! Must be 21+ years old to attend & participate (no children). Please bring a Yoga Mat and any other props, water bottle and a towel. Cost includes yoga class, meal and wine tasting.

International Yoga Day at West Acres

Family Wellness is honored to partner with Athleta and West Acres Mall to celebrate International ‘days’ of Yoga! All events are free and open to the public. All classes are at West Acres.

Thursday, June 23rd from 12:00PM to 1:00PM | Yogaflow with Lori Hill

Yogaflow is a soothing gentle class focuses on an exploration of yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. Therapeutic in nature, you will learn techniques to help you gain flexibility, while immersing yourself in a relaxing class that allows ample time to enjoy each pose. Expect lots of stretching & lingering in supported seated poses. Meditation and relaxation techniques will also be introduced, perfect for stress relief and overall well-being. Open to all levels of practice and abilities.

Friday, June 24th from 12:00PM to 1:00PM | Hatha Yoga Mixed Level with Karla Hensrud-Wagner

Hatha Yoga Mixed Level is designed for a wide variety of levels from beginners to more advanced students. Gain a deeper awareness of your body and develop higher levels of focus, strength, flexibility and endurance. You’ll continue to develop an understanding and appreciation of the integration of asana, pranayama breathing, and meditation. Modifications will be introduced for complex poses so that beginners can work comfortably at their own level. A great class for level 1’s and 2’s.

Saturday, June 25th from 1:00PM to 2:00PM | Vinyasa Yoga with Nikki Wharram

Vinyasa means breath-synchronized movement. When used to describe a style of yoga, Vinyasa means that poses will flow from one to another in conjunction with the breath. Vinyasa Flow is a practice where postures or asanas are connected through the breath for a transformative and balancing effect. Class builds heat, endurance, flexibility, strength. The creative sequencing found in a vinyasa class is often built around Surya namaskar (sun salutations).
