Custodian/Light Maintenance

Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for the cleanliness, sanitation, and light maintenance of Family Wellness properties.

Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent along with two (2) years of directly related experience is required.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Will perform basic cleaning duties such as vacuuming, removal of waste materials, wiping down of glass and mirrors, replacing paper and soap products.
  • Clean and disinfect the restrooms, lockers, and shower rooms.
  • Collect and/or remove soiled towels from the locker rooms and other parts of the facility and restock towels in locker rooms and fitness areas.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Perform floor care duties such as dry and wet mopping, stripping and waxing of floors, and carpet shampooing.
  • Remove snow from sidewalks and mow the grass around the facility.
  • Prepare rooms for meetings and clean up following meetings.
  • Performs routine maintenance checks of facilities.
  • Performs minor repairs such as painting, light bulb replacement, pool chemical testing.
  • Minor equipment repairs.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, this employee is frequently required to use fine motor skills to operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse and must sit, stand, walk, and kneel. Must be able to speak, hear, and understand the English language. This employee occasionally is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

This employee will have exposure to extreme temperature or humidity, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, and work with mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, or burn hazards.

BLOOD EXPOSURE
This position has a low risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. Training is required upon hire and maintained yearly.
