Community Wellness & Development Intern

Duration: Starting in May 2017 and September 2017

Position Purpose:

Contribute to Family Wellness operations and processes while obtaining firsthand experience that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):

Applicant to be pursuing or graduated from a program focusing in a degree relevant to position preferred but not required. Must have good human relations and communications skills; must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the leadership staff. Must have strong problem solving, leadership and analytical skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Products. Applicants must also maintain a high level of creativity and be able to contribute to a fun, professional, and energetic environment.

Time Commitment and Schedule Requirements:

Seeking a minimum of 16 hours per week position, but total hours can be flexible depending on the needs of applicant for fulfillment of internship. Day to day scheduling can also be flexible, but will need to have availability during morning and evening hours for events, assisting Manager and Coordinator in various duties, and regular meetings. Applicants will be held accountable for regular, on time attendance.

  • Assist with the planning and coordination of Inspire Wellness Initiative events.
  • Assist and evaluate programs and services to assure ongoing quality programming.
  • Explore grant opportunities and support grant application submission processes.
  • Work with the Program Development Manager/Coordinator to assess needs of members and the community as it pertains to the mission of Family Wellness and the Inspire Wellness Initiative.
  • Data entry and tracking of donors into computer software.
  • Other duties as assigned
